These hot crab dips can be used with freshly cooked crab (meat taken out of carcasses), canned crab meat, and are good with imitation crab meat as well.

Ingredients for this hot crab dip recipe:
Preheat oven to
400.
Spray baking dish or souffle dish, set
aside.
Cook bacon in skillet over medium-high heat
till crisp. Remove bacon from skillet, place bacon to dry on paper towels too
cool and crumble the bacon and set aside.
Drain the
bacon fat from skillet, all, but 1 tablespoon of the bacon grease.
Add onion to the bacon grease and saute till until tender.
Add flour and stir constantly. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until
thickened.
Next, crack large egg into large bowl.
Gradually add the hot milk mixture stirring constantly.
Add bacon, cheese, salt, peppers, crab meat and the
artichokes; mix well; set aside.
Beat egg whites and
cream of tartar using an electic mixer till they form stiff peaks. Gently fold
in the egg white mixture into milk mixture.
Pour into
baking dish or souffle dish.
Bake at 400 for 10
minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 and bake for 45 minutes until golden brown.
Ingredients:
Combine mayo,
mustard, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
Blend in egg
yolk, then, add the crab meat and mix well.
Cut each
slice of bread into 4 slices. Toast on one side.
Lightly
spread untoasted side with butter or margarine.
Arrange bread slices on baking sheet.
Spread crab dip mixture evenly on bread slices.
Add cheese, about 1/2 teaspoon sprinkled on each
slice.
Broil about 3-4 inches from broiler source for
4-5 minutes.

Ingredients:
Combine above
ingredients in medium size bowl.
Spoon into
rectangle-sized baking dish.
Bake uncovered for 25-30
minutes, until golden brown.
Serve this with toasted
croutons or toasted bread crumbs on top.
Ingredients:
Heat the cream cheese
and shrimp soup in medium sized pan on medium-low heat.
Stir well till mixture is nice and warm.
Add the rest of the ingredients, stirring
occassionally.
Keep warm on low and serve with chips
or crackers. This hot crab dip recipe is great in a bread bowl, too.
Ingredients:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In medium sized bowl, mix all the above ingredients well. Transfer to a small (1 Quart) baking dish. Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until lightly golden browned on top and bubbling at the edges. Serve with crackers or bread toasts. Makes 8-10 servings.
